Svaroopa® Style Yoga

A different paradigm in yoga, Svaroopa® Style yoga releases spinal muscle tension to promote deep relaxation and healing.
In Svaroopa® class, you will be doing poses in a series, working your body from the tailbone to the upper spine. Svaroopa yoga is not a vigorous, exercise style of yoga, but rather a deep restorative style that will open up your spine thereby relieving muscle pain and tension. This is a style of yoga that virtually every Body can do.
Our bodies start feeling more stiff as we age. Practicing Svaroopa® Style yoga will help to restore your body's suppleness and flexibility. Through the use of propping and alignment, your muscles are encouraged to release all of the built-up tension that has accumulated over the years. And the effects are long-lasting, if you continue to practice yoga!
What do I need to bring/wear to class?
You do not need a yoga mat. In Svaroopa Style yoga, we use blankets, blocks and other props to support your body. Everything you need will be provided. It is not a fashion show. Wear comfortable clothing that you can stretch in.
What is the meaning of the word Svaroopa?
Sva-roopa is a Sanskrit word meaning your own essential nature, or the bliss of your own being. Svaroopa yoga works on the body to access the inner self. In this way, profound healing on a physical as well as an emotional level can be achieved, if you are open to the experience. For more information go to Master Yoga.
